Ballina, Lennox Head, Wardell

Ballina itself is an Island with the surrounding areas of Wardell, Lennox Head and other neighbouring suburbs providing different types of environments and with that, different pests and treatments needed.
Lennox and Skennars Head, for example have a high incident of funnel ants that create the mounds in your lawn, particularly after rain. Our treatment for this is very effective and we can give a 12 month free service period on the treatment.

Ballina has high incident of coastal brown ants that can be quite a nuisance in the home. The termite that is prevalent in this area is Schedorhinotermes with Coptotermes and Nasutitermes further inland.

Lismore and Nimbin are great places and are both hubs for business and tourism. On the doorstep of some wonderful national parks and areas of exceptional beauty it should come as no surprise that even termites love the place!

Given the sensitive nature of this large area we only do monitoring and baiting which is specific to termites and is the system designed to have the least impact on our environment.

The termite that is prevalent in this area is the Coptotermes spp and Nasutitermes spp. Both have differing behaviours and nesting habits but both are very damaging termites.

A lot of homes in Lismore and Nimbin are built off the ground on timber or other types of piers like brick and concrete. In Nimbin there are a diverse number of construction types. This does not make them any less vulnerable to attack as termites are more than capable of going up these piers, even steel piers to gain access to the home and through mud packing.

We look after many homes and businesses in Lismore and Nimbin with regards to termites and other pests and can deal with any situation you may find yourself and your property in.

Mullumbimby, Main Arm, Wilsons Creek

Moving inland from Byron is the town of Mullumbimby. Termite wise it is a very active area with many homes built before it was mandatory to use termite protection at construction phase.

The termite that is prevalent in this area is the Coptotermes spp and Nasutitermes spp which is a very damaging species of termite that can act very fast is consuming structural and finishing timbers. Both have differing behaviours and nesting habits but both are very damaging termites.

The further inland we go we find the situation doesn't change that much except probably Nasutitermes are seen.
Monitoring and baiting suits here very well because baiting will take out the nest and given the area has a long history with timber, this is vital in protecting the home in the long term. In the catchment areas of Wilsons Creek chemical treatments to the soil should be avoided.

Suffolk Park

Suffolk Park is an area of prolific termite activity. The termite Schedorhinotermes spp is the most common termite found here and is a very important economic pest causing significant damage to structural and finishing timbers.

The sandy soil and coastal banksias provide the perfect environment for these termites and for a relatively small area, we have quite a few termite systems here. Whilst beachside Suffolk is most hit, homes in Baywood Chase and Byron Hills are also at constantly high risk.

Many homes in these areas were built prior to termite protection going down at time of construction so the incident of termite attack is quite common.

Due to the sandy nature of the area chemical treatments can be very ineffective unless major soil replenishment with an organic type soil is undertaken and is why we recommend Termite Monitoring and Baiting Systems over chemical treatments.

Another prolific pest in this area is ants. Again, sand, trees along with the sub tropic climate provide the perfect world for the black house ant, the white footed house ant and the coastal brown ant.

Ocean Shores

Not far north of Byron Bay is Ocean Shores. A large area of land with a diverse community and a beautiful stretch of beach to enjoy.

There is a diverse range of soil types in the Ocean Shores area from the red to the sandy and because of this different species of termite are present.

We look after many homes in Ocean Shores for all sorts of pests and for termites, it is an area regularly hit by termites with homes from South Golden Beach to Ocean Shores to Brunswick Heads all being regularly invaded. Of the three termite species of economic importance in the area, Coptotermes spp and Shedorhinotermes spp are usually the main suspects.
